Mixer for bentonite and additives
For an important new industrial plant for the production of pet litter we were approached for the supply of a ploughshare mixer in stainless steel capable of handling 2500 litres of product per batch.
The unit needs to heat the materials as they are mixed, has to be installed in an ATTEX-rated area (ATEX 22) and must be controlled by an inverter.
In order to satisfy all requests we decided to supply our model KB2SC02500ILD, in the following configuration:
- Mixing drum and end plates in 304 SS
- Solid main shaft in 304SS
- Mixing tools: bolted, adjustable blade-type tools and scrapers in 304SS
- 1 off. flanged, round inlet
- 1 off. flanged round vent port
- 1 off. round, central discharge, with trap-door completely flush with mixing drum, electric-pneumatically actuated, suitable for ATEX 22
- 2 off. inspection doors, with ATEX22 safety door locks
- temperature jacket with thermocouple for product heating with diathermal oil
- complete drum insulation
- 1 off. separate drive, in line, with 55 kW electric motor and two flexible pin couplings (suitable for control with inverter) – all fit for ATEX 22
- 1 off. ATEX 22 pneumatic panel
- 1 off. ATEX 22 junction box
