Mass production of premixed building materials

 

For prestigious international company producing premixed building materials, including grouts, screeds, mortars and plasters, we were awarded the task of manufacturing a ploughshare industrial mixer with 5000 litres of useful capacity (7000 litres of total, geometrical capacity) with hydraulic total bomb door discharge. The request was to be able to handle vast quantities of materials, some of which very abrasive (coarse sand-based premixed materials), working round the clock: hence, the mixer needed to be extremely robust, have top performance and flexibility. For this reason we suggested and manufactured a KBT5000 industrial mixer for building premixed materials.

Technical specifications

  • high thickness cylindrical mixing drum in HB400 wear-resistant steel
  • solid mixing shaft
  • bolted, adjustable plough tools in HB500 wear-resistant steel with Wolfram Carbide welded coating on tool tips
  • 60° bomb door discharge, operated by means of hydraulic cylinders, with safety lock
  • inlets (6 off.) as per customer drawing
  • 4 off. side refiners, with tulip tool, with total Wolfram Carbide welded coating (7.5 kW electric motors)
  • 1 off. pneumatic sampling device for continuous sampling operations, even while the mixer is turning
  • 1 off. pneumatic panel for the distribution of compressed air to all air-driven appliances (main seals, refiner seals, sampling device)
  • in-line drive (ILD) with fluid coupling, flexible pin coupling and 132 kW electric motor
