OXIDE PREMIXES FOR BUILDING MATERIALS

KB2PC00250DD

The Challenge

For a client looking to process small batches of oxide premixes for the building sector, we were requested to supply a 240-litre batch mixer. The machine must disperse ultra-fine oxides within batches composed of cements and sands, achieving an exceptionally high level of homogenisation, as the finished product must pass the rigorous "streak test". The mixer must be operated completely manually, covering loading, mixing, and discharge processes.

The MC² Solution

  • Mixer model: KB2PC00250DD batch mixer
  • Material of construction: all parts built in 304L stainless steel
  • Maximum working capacity: 240 litres
  • Solid 304L stainless steel rotor shaft
  • Mixing tools: adjustable, bolted ploughs and scrapers made of 304L stainless steel
  • 1 off. top inspection/loading door (on drum top) for manual operations, complete with safety interlock
  • 1 off. vent port on mixer inspection/loading door, supplied complete with 304L stainless steel cage and antistatic filter sleeve
  • 1 off. round discharge outlet featuring flush-fit trapdoor with electropneumatic actuation
  • 1 off. side refiner with blade-type tools in 304L stainless steel, 4 kW e-motor (2 poles)
  • 1 off. pneumatic panel in 304L stainless steel for the distribution of compressed air to all devices/appliances
  • Direct drive, flanged to the mixer’s end support, complete with an 11 kW electric motor
  • 1 off. on-board control panel, with PLC, main motor inverter, colour touchscreen, software to control all operations (main shaft, side refiner, discharge) with programmable recipes and mixing times/offsets, integration with all safety devices, alarms, emergencies, in line with Industry 4.0 requirements
  • 1 off. 304L stainless steel supporting frame on castors

Key Benefits

  • Totally reliable and repeatable batches
  • Outstanding homogenisation of materials (successfully passing the streak-test)
  • Ultra-fast mixing times, even if manually (or semi-automatically) operated
  • Maximum flexibility (unit can be quickly and easily moved to various areas of the company; possibility to successfully handle multiple formulations)
  • Excellent return on investment
