The Challenge

For a leading manufacturer of instant drink premixes, we were requested to supply a sugar mixer. The ingredients to be blended consist primarily of sugar, flavourings, and additives. The mixer is designed to be installed directly above an MC² ribbon blender, which was part of the same supply package, as an expansion of a new production line within the client's main facility.

The machines are configured in a cascade system, with the ploughshare mixer feeding the ribbon blender. Their respective roles are to prepare the premixes and subsequently keep them in gentle motion while awaiting transfer to the packaging department via a dense phase pneumatic conveying system.

  • Separate drive, with flexible coupling, complete with a 30 kW electric motor
  • ATEX declaration of conformity to ATEX 22 External Zone of all electric components (e-motor, interlocks, solenoids and coils)
  • Food-grade configuration (all materials certified suitable for contact with foodstuffs or FDA approved)
