The Challenge

We were contacted by one of the largest international global players in the waste recovery industry—focusing primarily on organic vegetable waste used for fertiliser production—to manufacture a continuous mixer.

The unit is designed to be positioned at the heart of the production line, directly upstream of the dryer.

The requested mixer must process a blended material throughput of 35 tonnes per hour, composed of both dry and damp digestate. The system operates on a continuous, 24/7 basis, running without interruption except for scheduled plant maintenance shutdowns.

The MC² Solution

  • Mixer model: KC2PV04400DCD continuous mixer
  • Material of construction: all parts built in high thickness 304L stainless steel, with adjustable weir plate
  • Drum internal liner in HB400 wear-resistant steel bolted panels, individually replaceable
  • 304L stainless steel rotor shaft, with air-purged seals
  • Mixing tools: adjustable, bolted toothed ploughs and scrapers made of 304L stainless steel with welded face-hardening on the entire surface
  • 1 off. flanged rectangular inlet, custom made
  • 1 off. flanged round vent port
  • 1 off. additional inlet for liquids, custom made
  • 1 off. flanged rectangular outlet, custom made
  • 2 off. inspection doors with interlocks
  • 2 off. side refiner flanges
  • Separate right-angle drive, with flexible pin coupling, complete with a 55 kW electric motor
