The Challenge

For a mid-sized company manufacturing a wide array of products in the food sector (ranging from ice cream premixes and spice blends to meat seasonings and cereal-nut mixes), we were requested to supply a mixing station as part of an industrial expansion project.

The comprehensive, turnkey system must handle a vast number of complex recipes, guaranteeing highly reliable and consistent results batch after batch. Outstanding ease of cleaning, operational simplicity, and high flexibility complete the system's profile.

The MC² Solution

  • Mixer model: KB2SC00750DD batch mixer
  • Material of construction: all parts built in high thickness 304L stainless steel
  • Maximum working capacity: 820 litres
  • Solid 304L stainless steel rotor shaft, with air-purged seals
  • Mixing tools: blades and scrapers made of 304L stainless steel directly welded to the main shaft
  • 2 off. flanged round inlets
  • 1 off manual loading hopper in 304L stainless steel, complete with safety grid, hinged lid and safety switch
  • 1 off. flanged round vent port complete with 304L stainless steel cage and filter sleeve
  • 1 off. round, flanged discharge outlet, with flush-fit trapdoor with electropneumatic actuation
  • 1 off. extra-large inspection door with interlock
  • 2 off. side refiners with blade-type tools, 4 kW (1450 rpm) e-motor
  • 1 off. junction box (ATEX 22 certified)
  • 1 off. control panel, complete with PLC, touchscreen, main shaft motor inverter, software to control all operations (main shaft speed, refiner, discharge) and monitor all safety devices (interlocks, pneumatic cabinet), as well as store and program recipes.
  • Finishing of all parts in contact with product: satin polishing with Ra ≤0.8μm
  • Direct drive, directly flanged to the unit’s end plate, complete with an 18.5 kW electric motor
  • ATEX22 certificate (ATEX II 3/3D Ex h IIIC T135°C DcDc)
