Application Production of dry mortars, grouts and plasters. We were asked by a prestigeous group operating in the building and construction industry, to supply a ploughshare mixer to replace an existing unit: the most important requirement for the customer was that it should be totally and perfectly interchangeable with the old mixer.. The unit needed to be equipped with totally customized inlets and vent port (made to specifications, both in size and inclination). Since the production rate needed to be high, the choice fell on a total bomb-door 60° outlet: the customer preferred the pneumatic version over the hydraulic one. The unit needed to have blade type tools, bolted, 2 frontal inspection doors, 4 refiner flanges and a pneumatic sampling device flange. In order to meet all requirements we proposed our KB2SC02000ILD model, in the following configuration:
- High thickness wear-resistant mixing drum, mild steel end plates
- Mild steel main shaft
- Bolted, adjustable mixing blades and scrapers, in wear-resistant steel, with WC coating on tips
- 4 off. round inlets made to specifications in wear resistant steel, with flange
- 1 off. square inlet made to specifications in wear-resistant steel, with flange
- 1 off. round vent port, in wear-resistant steel
- 1 off. 60° total bomb-door outlet, operated by pneumatic cylinders
- 2 off. frontal inspection doors, with safety electro-mechanical locks
- 4 off. refiner flanges
- 1 off. pneumatic sampling device flange
- 1 separate drive, in line, with 55 kW motor and double flexible pin coupling (to be controlled by an inverter)
